AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Manuscript submission. 

The journal only accepts online submissions, through open journal system. The manuscript must be accompanied by a cover letter containing the article title, the first name and last name of all the authors, a paragraph describing the claimed novelty of the findings versus current knowledge; and a list of five suggested international reviewers (title, name, postage address, email address). Reviewers must not be subject to a conflict of interest involving the author(s) or manuscript(s). The editor is not obligated to use any reviewer suggested by the author(s).

Submission of a manuscript implies that the submitted work has not been published before (except as part of a thesis or report, or abstract), and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. When a manuscript was written by a group, all authors should read and approve the final version of the submitted manuscript and its revision; and agree on the submission of manuscripts for this journal. All authors should have made substantial contributions to the concept and design of the research, acquisition of the data and its analysis, drafting of the manuscript, and correction of the revision. All authors must be responsible for the quality, accuracy, and ethics of the work.

All manuscripts must be submitted to BORDER Journal through online submission on website: https://sar-docagri.upnjatim.ac.id/. The Editorial Team welcomes articles and research reports that have never been submitted for consideration nor published elsewhere. Preparing the manuscript. Please make sure before submitting that: The manuscript is proofread several times by the author(s), and is criticized by some colleagues. The language is revised by a professional science editor or a native English speaker. The structure of the manuscript follows the guidelines (sections, references, quality of the figures, etc). Abstract provides a clear view of the content of the paper and attracts potential citers. The number of cited references complies with the limits set by this journal (around 15 for research papers).

The language of the Journal both in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
The Editorial Board may request language editing during the evaluation process of the submitted article. If the article is accepted for the Journal, it will not be published before proofreading and language editing.
All manuscripts must be submitted online through DergiPark which serves authors, editors, and reviewers and supports the full editorial process.

Authors should use the following guidelines while preparing their manuscripts.

  • The submitted manuscripts should be no less than 6000 - 8000 words including references, appendices, tables, and figures. Submissions that are below 6000 words will not be accepted for review.
  • All manuscripts submitted to this journal should be prepared using the ASA Template. Manuscripts that are not prepared according to the ASA Template will be returned to the author(s).
  • The manuscripts should be sent as a MS Word File . pdf documents will be sent back to the authors.
  • All submitted manuscripts must use the 7th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) for both in-text and end-of-text references (See http://www.apastyle.org/ or https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/).
  • The submitted manuscripts should not contain information that reveals the identity of the authors. After the blind-review process, the authors are expected to submit the final version of their manuscripts containing author information, biodata, and photo.
  • Editor in Chief will return the manuscript(s) that do not follow the requirements or that are otherwise deemed unsuitable for publication to the author(s) for revision.
  • Authors should check the "Publication Policy" before submitting their articles.
  • Authors are responsible for the mistakes made in the details, such as the authors’ names, institutional affiliation, title, etc.

Abstract: One paragraph, maximum 200-250 words. Written in English. The abstract must be clear, concise, and descriptive. It should outline the research problem, research objectives, followed by a statement of methodology and a brief summary of the results. The abstract should conclude with a comment on the significance of the results or a brief conclusion.

Keywords: keyword 1; keyword 2; keyword 3; keyword 4; keyword 5 (Create a list of three to five relevant keywords that are specific to the article, yet sufficiently general within the discipline, and list them in alphabetical order.)

Introduction

The introduction should present the research background, the problems addressed, efforts that have been made, problem-solving approaches, literature citations, and the research objective. The introduction must include previous related studies or methods (state of the art) relevant to the research title. Explain limitations or weaknesses in previous findings (gap analysis), then determine the contribution of the present research to previous studies (novelty). The final paragraph must describe the novelty and the research objective. The objective must be detailed in a flowing paragraph (not numbering). Example: The purpose of this study is 1)… 2)… 3)… (written in continuous paragraph form).

Citation writing follows the American Psychological Association (APA Style) and must use reference management software Mendeley (APA 7th Style) to avoid citation and reference errors. 

Methodology

Written in flowing paragraph style (not numbering). The research method describes the research design used (research location, type of data, data sources, data collection techniques, data analysis techniques, variable definition and measurement). Data analysis must be detailed according to research objectives: Example: Objective 1 was analyzed using … ; Objective 2 was analyzed using … ; and so on.

Results and Discussion

The results and discussion present the data analysis (in tables or figures, not raw data or screenshots of analysis output). Discuss the relationship between findings and theoretical concepts and/or hypotheses (if applicable).
The discussion must explain the results in detail and compare current findings with previous research. Highlight similarities, differences, and unique aspects of the findings.

For clarity, sub-titles may be used. Sub-titles represent discussion for each research objective. Manuscript writing must use supporting elements (illustrations, figures, tables, and graphs). This section should not be structured like thesis chapters.

Figures and Tables (sub poin italic)

All figures and tables must be cited in the main text as Figure 1, Table 1, etc. Place them close to the text where first cited and centered. Photos, graphics, charts, or diagrams must be labeled Figure (not abbreviated) and numbered sequentially (Figure 1). The title must appear below the figure, centered without extra blank lines. If the title extends to a second line, align left.

Conclusion

Written concisely, answering only the research objective or hypothesis, not repeating the discussion. The conclusion must be critical, logical, honest, based on factual evidence, and cautious if generalization is made.           
Presented as paragraphs, not numbering or bullet points. For clarity, conclusions and suggestions should be written separately.

Suggestions

Suggestions are an important part of scholarly work. Suggestions aim to enable readers to analyze deficiencies in the study. Recommendations should emphasize further research development or methodological improvement.

Here you may acknowledge any support that is not included in the author contribution or funding section. This may include administrative and technical support, or material donations (e.g., equipment used for experiments).

REFERENCES

Research manuscripts must cite a minimum of 15 references, while review articles must cite a minimum of 30 references. At least 80% of references must be primary sources (international journals and nationally accredited journals) and include DOI/active links. References should preferably be from the last 10 years. Self-citations are limited to a maximum of 30% of total references. Avoid: nested references, popular books, and general internet sources except journals and official institutional documents. Reference management software Mendeley / Zotero / EndNote (APA 7th Style) must be used.
